The game was released in July 2010 as a platform exclusive title on Xbox Live Arcade, and was later re-released as part of a retail game pack along with Trials HD and ‘Splosion Man in April 2011. Ports of the game to the PlayStation Network and Microsoft Windows via Steam and GamersGate were created by Playdead, released after the year-long Xbox 360 exclusivity period was completed. A Mac OS X version was released in December 2011. Limbo is a 2D sidescroller, incorporating the physics system Box2D to govern environmental objects and the player character. The player guides an unnamed boy through dangerous environments and traps as the boy searches for his sister. The developer built the game’s puzzles expecting the player to fail before finding the correct solution. Playdead called the style of play “trial and death”, and used visually gruesome imagery for the boy’s deaths to steer the player from unworkable solutions.

Nikoli’s Pencil Puzzle review.Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Nikoli’s Pencil Puzzle from Hudson and Konami for the Nintendo 3DS. Nikoli’s Pencil Puzzle is a collection of four Japanese puzzle games. Sudoku is the main attraction, taking up half the game’s 600 puzzles, but the other 300 are rounded out by Akari, Shikaku and Hashi puzzles. These four number based puzzle varieties comprise the entire package. Fortunately, what the game lacks in diversity, it makes up for in sheer quantity. The game’s 600 puzzles is a nice amount, so there’s no shortage of content here. You’re getting a very robust collection of puzzles, if one with a very specific focus. This is a List of my top 10 favorite (action) puzzle games. Not included in this list despite being really awesome and you should check them out are Portal, Picross, and Braid. The reason being is they have solutions to them, whereas these don’t, and therefor these have near infinite replay value. Bust a Move 4 on the Dreamcast is representing this series.
