  1. If you want a good scrolling beater for 16-bit platforms (emulation or otherwise), go for Streets of Rage 2 and/or 3. Up to 8 enemies on screen, the goons themselves can be very wily and can surround you and pen you in (not possible with only 3 enemies), and the gameplay itself is a little deeper, with special moves, throw cancels, etc. Crucially, it’s amazing in multiplayer. Still is. We laughed our heads off recently playing through Bare Knuckle III (Jap version of SOR3) on my Mega Drive.

  2. You missed one very important point: the SNES version has only 3 enemies on the screen at any time.

This game is all about a 1-vs-crowd fight. Most of the depth of game play comes from making real-time decisions in how to use crowd-control techniques such as throws and jumpkicks. Without it, many scenes just become repetitive punching sessions. It’s a totally different game!

  3. Capcom didn’t have enough memory for the cartridge to put Guy, Multiplayer and the Industrial Area in there

  4. hi alphanerd01 my name is emurder99 and i was a big fan of final fight and the other final fight games as well there all great and the game been old school for years

  5. I think Capcom obviously did a bit of a rush job on the snes version and thought no one would notice a character and level missing. Look at Knights of the Round for SNES. Almost Arcade perfect.

  6. I honestly have no idea why the Wii wasted time with the seriously-lacking SNES version when they could have just as easily given you guys the real arcade version. Now back in the day, I understand there were limits to the SNES, probably due to rushing it out or something since Final Fight 2 did have 3 characters and 2-player action… but now that they had a choice, why re-release the SNES version and not just go all out with the arcade version? I can’t imagine anybody dowloading this.
