Theme Park – Cutscenes

Here are all the cut scenes included in the PC version of Theme Park for your viewing pleasure. Not all rides had animated cutscenes, however, whatever was available is all here. Also included is the introduction video and the brief “game over” sequence that screens should you fall bankrupt in the game. As you can probably tell, all the animations/movies here are pre-rendered (don’t forget that this game was released in 1994), so the mini movies would be exactly the same regardless of where your shops are positioned, or how you designed customizable rides (eg rubber tubing, big dipper, roller coaster etc.) The Big Dipper also had an animated clip, but it was 100% identical to that of the roller coaster. Just so you know. :) Why did I make this video? Well, lately I’ve been hooked on the DS version (which, unlike the PC version, includes a localized shop and/or ride for each country) and I just thought that owners of the DS version might’ve liked to have seen the clips that were omitted from the DS game. Anyways, enjoy the clip! The clips are listed here in order of appearance… Introduction Bouncy Castle Snakes and Ladders Planet Rocket Merry-Go-Round Maze Roller Coaster Super Spinner Parasol Chairs Rubber Tubing Race Car Ride Plane Flyer Super Spinner Pirate Boat Flight Sim Haunted House Game Over This video is closed captioned.

  5. @sillygostly Ahh yes Zool! I totally forgot about that. Thanks for the info.

  6. Advertising was not a new concept in video gaming by any means, and it’s always been present in at least some form or another, whether it was through the use of licensed music, vehicles or in-game billboards in even the earliest video games, or the blatant advertising of Chupa Chups in the Zool games (which I believe are British).

  7. @slapavisionarchival: thanks for the info.

  8. Midland sponsored the PC version of Theme Park and rumour has it that Bullfrog was in financial trouble at the time.

Maybe someone can tell me if this was the first British computer game to feature such product placement / advertising ?

  9. I remeber playing this no sound on my windows 95 pc, but i was amazed by the simple videos that made you feel like your in the ride.

  18. Murder suicide would be a tad morbid for a G rated game.

  19. no. the manual states: ” When the value of all the shares and stock in your park won’t cover the cost of your loans, any interest you owe, debts to the bank, and the 20,000 leeway you’re given, you are legally declared bankrupt. The park has to close, your life’s work collapses around you, and there’s only one honorable way out.

    It’s a long way down…”

    Pretty much explains it…
