Shadow of the Comet (Review)

I am back with a new Review!! Shadow of the Comet. A Infograms games and a real masterpiece that suffers greatly by uninvolved game design concepts. These flaws are expected to not exist by today’s gamers. Things like game blocks, location dependant items, strict quest progression orders… still even with these problems Shadow of the Comet is one of the shinning examples from the Adventure game genre of how to make a truly creepy and interesting horror game. One that is scary though story, not though showing gore or cheap “startle scares” Like the works of HP Lovecraft that this game emulates Shadow of the Comet is a cerebral horror story of subtle vision. If you are a avid adventure game player I strongly advise you play this amazing game. Though if you are more casual then the drawbacks of the interface and the formentioned game blocks will most likely be to much for you. I’m back!! Been away and now I’m not an now here is a new Review!! Hope you guys like it. Again I kinda ran out of room on this one.. so it is a little rushed at the end… also I had a terrible time trying to work out what I could show and what I couldn’t. Shadow of the Comet is so subtle that most of the “cool” stuff is needed to be seen during a play though otherwise the game will be spoiled. So the visuals are not as exciting as some of my other ones. Anyway I hope you like it!! Have fun and happy adventuring!! Check back for more reviews to come as well as other presentations on the Adventure

  6. WOW, the gamebox included Boleskine’s letters? that’s JUST awesome! standing ovation for infogrames

  7. I do plan on doing the Hero’s Quest games. Trail by fire is my personal fav as well. I have been putting it off though as the amount of content and multiple play thoughs I need to do is kind of daunting. I do plan on doing this though, it may be a series of videos talking about the entire series, rather then a single review. Stay tuned I may even have a big surprise for you when I get around to it.

  8. Oh, and btw. Not that I want to brag, but I still got the game in it’s original box, it’s the cd-rom version with a Shadow of the Comet mouse pad and a real brown paper envelope containing letters from Lord Boleskine :D I’m so glad that I didn’t threw this gamebox out like most of my other old games. Dammit! I should kept them all! I had most of the sierra adventure games and all of the Lucas Arts titles and I didn’t appreciate them. Now I have just made myself sad :(
