Need For Speed Shift Game Review – Lazy Game Reviews

After 12 titles and several of them disappointing, is the newest NFS worth buying? Perhaps a shift in the right direction? Lawls in this review of Slightly Mad Studio’s: Need For Speed Shift ( PC version reviewed ) Also, for some reason I have found out upgrading makes a HUGE and negative difference toward handling! For instance, in my Lamborghini LP640, if I upgrade everything involving handling, and then only the engine, it will handle beautifully. But if I start upgrading the turbo, gearing, and most of the “Extra” upgrades (including large brakes) it will slide all over the place, negating any performance boosts. I assume this could be fixed by then tweaking the car to handle the performance, but what I’ve done doesn’t seem to help and the game gives no guidance on tweaking anything so I have no idea.

  1. Yeah, I can see how the corner cutting rule would be ideal for online.
And they always try for a Septemberish release of NFS, so this is just another game for another year, about 2 years in the making. They’re fixing a lot of the small issues with the PC version through patches, and I’m loving the 360 version. Superior in every way, other than graphics.

  2. i think the no cutting corner rule is the key component that makes the online gameplay ennjoyable.
there is a chance that the reason that this game is so unpolished is that they rushed the product, perhaps they were trying to publish it before gt5 and gt psp?

  3. Shift is much better than those previous stupid kiddy arcade gangster and ricer wannabe racing game. that is only my opinion, don’t take it personally

  4. Great review. Really thorough and entertaining.

  5. g25 + pro physics is the way the go. No grip to be found? perhaps you should learn throttle control
